CONTINUOUS COMPRHENSIVE EVALUATION
Effective implementation of C.C.E. as per the instructions of Samiti / C.B.S.E. promotes the evolution of a positive outlook in the attitude of the students. It also helps the institution to keep track of the following feed- backs:
  • to assess the students at shorter intervals.
  • to plan out an effective remedial coaching.
  • to ensure that deficiencies in the teaching learning process are effectively handled at the earlier stage.
  • to assess and improve the overall development of the children.
  • to nurture latent talents and skills.
Scholastic & non-scholastic activities and achievements are studied and evaluated by the following process:
  • to assess scholastic achievements in the field of academics, the following testing exercises are being carried out. For classes VII to X, totally 04 Formative Assessments and 2 Summative Assessments are held whereas for classes VI,XI & XII, 6 unit tests, 6 assignments, 02 projects, 02 oral/quiz are conducted in each subject as per Samiti’s guidelines. In addition to this, 02 term tests of 3 hours duration will also be conducted as per the time schedule intimated by Samiti.
  • to assess non-scholastic achievements in areas like physical health, literary and scientific activities, cultural activities, games & sports, habits, interests, attitudes, values and other personality traits, grading system is followed as per the guidelines given by C.B.S.E.
REMEDIAL MEASURES
For better academic monitoring and progress, remedial classes are introduced soon after first unit test. Slow learners are identified early with an ultimate aim of removing slow learners and to put them at par with gifted children. They will be given special coaching to strengthen the fundamentals in arithmetic, languages etc on the basis of the feedback obtained after each unit test. Teachers will provide intensive coaching to the slow learners to make up for the deficiencies and help them rise to the expected level. Afternoon study periods are mainly utilized for remedial.
PARENTAL MONITORING FOR ACADEMIC PROGRESS
After every unit test and term test, progress cards are prepared by class teachers and issued to parents during the parent’s day on first Sunday/third Sunday of every month. The performance of students is discussed and remedial measures are chalked out. It is reiterated that the parents should interact with teachers to keep watch on the progress of their wards. It is stressed that they should meet the Teachers/Housemasters to know the progress of their wards after every test. This will help them to have a continuous monitoring on the academic progress of their children and also to be in touch with the various activities of the Vidyalaya.
STRONG FOUNDATION IN LOWER CLASSES
In order to help the students achieve higher academic goals, we believe in the dictum “catch them young and teach them better”. To achieve this goal the basic scientific concepts, mathematical formulae and tables and the necessary reading & writing skills should be strengthened in classes VI, VII &VIII. This is a vital area as the students in this remote locality have neither the pre-requisite basic knowledge nor do they have the urge to achieve higher academic goals.
LIBRARY
Library is a prominent place, which reflects the scholastic spirit of the institution. It is equipped to suit the needs, individual differences, special interest & aptitudes. It launches the mind set of students in pursuance of research and nurtures skills like analyzing power , thinking capacity, problem solving skill, spirit of adventure, exploration etc. Our Vidyalaya Library has a wide collection of 5400 books ranging from children’s field of interest to advanced sophisticated materials in various phases like academics, administration, career guidance, fiction, encyclopedia etc. It is equipped with a wide collection of books for career guidance and personality development. House Library functions as per the guidelines of Hon’ble Commissioner, NVS and about 120 books are issued for blossoming House Library activities. Once in a fortnight, the books are exchanged under the guidance of the Housemaster and the House Library register is submitted to the Principal for periodical monitoring.
PHYSICAL TRAINING
The morning P.T. is a regular feature starting from 5-55 am to 6-30 am on every working day. In the morning P.T, activities for body fitness like jogging, yoga, aerobics, calisthenics, gymnastics, mass P.T and associated physical exercises will be taken up involving all children. No specific games like Volley ball, Football etc., will be conducted in the morning which is likely to affect the performance of the child during the course of the day. As a major part of C.C.A. program, our students will be prepared to participate in Cluster, Regional & National competitions conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
INTEGRATION OF YOGA
Along with physical education in the morning, yoga is also being practiced by the students. It helps to bring up mental and physical fitness. It also develops concentration, provides tranquility, improves behavioral outcomes, enhances discipline and ultimately improves the overall personality of the students.
SCOUTS AND GUIDES
Thirty two children have been enrolled to form Scout and Guides unit. The unit is given special care as it is in the developmental stage. Every week, the unit practices for two sessions and they are exposed to different phases of Scouts and Guides. They are also being prepared to appear for the 2nd level exam Pratham Sopan by the end of August-2011. It is planned to send the children to Mainland to participate in National Adventurous programme. The activities of scout and guides will be regularized by giving systematic practice with the goal of getting them qualified for Rashtrapathi Award.
NCC
